The Coordination Meeting of the BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office, the Committee of Senior Officials, BSEC Related Bodies and BSEC PERMIS, was held at the BSEC Headquarters in Istanbul, on 17 January 2020. The PABSEC International Secretariat was represented by Mr. Daniel Dulca, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General.
On 16 January 2020 Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to Sofia and met with Mrs. Tsveta Karayancheva, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. Mr. Petar Kanev, Head of the PABSEC Bulgarian Delegation also participated in the meeting.
On December 26, 2019, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, visited the Parliament of Georgia and met with Mr. Archil Talakvadze, PABSEC President, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia. Mr. Otar Danelia, Head of the PABSEC Georgian delegation, and Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Vice-Chairman of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee, also participated in this meeting.
The 9th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking Countries (TurkPA) was held in Baku on 18 December 2019, upon the invitation of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, presented the PABSEC at this event.
Mr. Cemal Oztürk, Head of the PABSEC Turkish delegation, represented the PABSEC at the 12th Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), which was held in Antalya on 13-18 December 2019, upon the invitation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT).
The PABSEC Delegation composed of Mr. Symeon Kedikoglou, PABSEC Vice-President and Head of the PABSEC Hellenic delegation, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, and Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated in the 41st Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States, which took place in Athens, on 13 December 2019.
Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General participated in the Meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials, which was held in Athens, on 11-12 December 2019.
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General and Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, participated to the Conference on “Confidence Building in the Black Sea Region”, which was organized by the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS), in cooperation with the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF), in Athens, Greece, on 9 December 2019. On the same day, the PABSEC delegation paid a visit to the Ministry of Tourism of the Hellenic Republic and met with the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Manos Konsolas.
The International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS), the OSCE Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and the Office of the National Rapporteur on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, jointly organized the Conference “Enhancing Anti-Trafficking Response in the Black Sea Region”, in Athens, on Monday 2 December 2019, within the framework of the Hellenic BSEC Chairmanship-in-Office. The PABSEC International Secretariat was represented by the PABSEC Deputy Secretary General Mr. Miltiadis Makrygiannis.
