At the initiative of Istanbul University and the Black Sea Universities’ Network, the BSUN 2024 Congress and the 16th Conference of Rectors from the Black Sea Region were organized in Istanbul on 11 July 2024.
On 10 July 2024, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, visited the city of Rize with the aim to participate in the preparatory work for the organisation of an international event in Ayder (Rize, Republic of Türkiye) on 27-30 September 2024. During the visit in Rize, Mr. Hajiyev was accompanied by Mr. Mücahit Arslan, Deputy Chairman of Foreign Relations and Protocol Department of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, and Mr. Ali Gürkan Üstündağ, Administrative Officer of the PABSEC International Secretariat.
On 4 July 2024, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria and met with Mr. Petar Kanev, PABSEC Vice-President.
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, and Mr. Daniel Dulca, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General in charge of interparliamentary relations and protocol, took part in the 31st Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which took place at the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest (Romania) on 29 June - 3 July 2024. The event was attended by 250 parliamentarians from North America, Europe and Central Asia, as well as representatives of international parliamentary assemblies.
We congratulate all parliamentarians, national parliaments, and international parliamentary organizations on the International Day of Parliamentarism and wish successful activities for the benefit of the peoples of the wider Black Sea region and the whole world.
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, took part in the Summer Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which was held in Strasbourg on 24-28 June 2024.
