Visit of Mr. Akkan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Foundation, to the PABSEC International Secretariat, Istanbul, 9 April 2026
Mr. Akkan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Foundation and Mr. Ferit Sag, member of the Executive Board of the Foundation, visited the PABSEC International Secretariat in Istanbul on 9 April 2026 and held a meeting with the Secretary General of PABSEC, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev.
During the meeting, Mr. Suver informed the PABSEC Secretary General about the activities and ongoing initiatives of the Marmara Group Foundation and extended an invitation to the 29th Eurasian Economic Summit, to be held in Istanbul on 11–13 May 2026. Within the framework of the Summit, a wide range of topical issues will be addressed, including energy geopolitics, global economic fragilities, the resilience of democratic institutions, as well as the role of women in peace and diplomacy.
The PABSEC Secretary General expressed his appreciation for the visit and the kind invitation, and invited Mr. Suver to participate in the 67th PABSEC General Assembly, to be held in Georgia on 29 June - 1 July 2026. Mr. Hajiyev further informed that the General Debate of the Assembly will be devoted to the highly relevant theme: “Artificial Intelligence for Regional Cooperation: Innovation, Connectivity and Sustainable Development in the Black Sea Region.”
The sides also exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including prospects for enhancing regional cooperation, strengthening dialogue among relevant stakeholders, and fostering initiatives aimed at sustainable development and economic connectivity in the Black Sea region.
