Participation of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General in the 9th Meeting of the ICAPP Women’s Wing, 9–10 April 2026, Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye
Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General participated in the 9th Meeting of the Women’s Wing of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), held on 9–10 April 2026 in Istanbul.
Convened under the theme “Women’s Leadership in Times of Global Transformation” the Meeting served as a platform for promoting dialogue among women political leaders and strengthening their role in peacebuilding, global cooperation, and climate action.
On 10 April 2026, the participants were received by the President of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, at his office at the Dolmabahçe Palace. During the meeting, the President emphasized the important role of women in the development of Türkiye and reaffirmed his support for women’s participation in all spheres of public life.
In his intervention, the PABSEC Secretary General underscored the importance of further strengthening cooperation between PABSEC and ICAPP. Mr. Hajiyev also highlighted the growing role of women within PABSEC and reaffirmed the importance of further enhancing their participation in regional parliamentary processes.
