Participation of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, in the 22nd Eurasian Economic Summit, Istanbul, 6-7 February 2019
On 6-7 February 2019, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, participated in the 22nd Eurasian Economic Summit, organized by the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation.
The Summit, which was dedicated to the topic “Responsibility for the Future”, was attended by government representatives, former presidents, ministers, parliamentarians, representatives of international organizations, public figures from about 40 countries. The Summit discussed the impact of the development of technology on the future of humanity, the use of artificial intelligence in economy and energy sector, the role of religion in global processes, etc.
The PABSEC Secretary General spoke on the topic “New Dimensions of Globalization, Populism, Cooperation in Health - Economic, Technological and Military Power Wars”. In his speech, the Secretary General emphasized the role of the Black Sea Region in the implementation of major projects in the field of energy and transport and informed the participants about the refugee problems and existing conflicts that have a negative impact upon the regional development.
On the sidelines of the Summit, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev met with Mr. Petru Lucinschi former President of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Dumitru Braghis, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Ali Hasanov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of the Presidential Administration and other officials.
