The PABSEC Participation in the 27th Eurasian Economic Summit, Istanbul, 21-22 February 2024
On 21-22 February 2024, Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, PABSEC Vice-President (Georgia) and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, participated in the 27th Eurasian Economic Summit, organized by the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation.
The Summit, which was dedicated to the topic “Eurasian Economic Summits Are a Free Platform”, was attended by government representatives, former presidents, ministers, parliamentarians, representatives of international organizations, public figures from various countries. The Summit discussed the issues of climate change, environmental protection, energy cooperation, use of artificial intelligence, creating an inclusive society, etc.
The PABSEC Secretary General spoke at the opening and emphasized the role of the Black Sea region in strengthening cooperation among the countries in various spheres, as well as the implementation of major energy and transport projects. He informed the participants about the activities of the PABSEC and the role of parliamentarians in strengthening cooperation in the region.
At the Summit Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, on behalf of Ms. Lindita Nikolla, PABSEC President, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania, awarded Mr. Akkan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation, with the PABSEC Medal of Honour for his contribution to strengthening friendly relations and cooperation among the countries of the Wider Black Sea Region.
