57th Meeting of the PABSEC Legal and Political Committee,7 April 2021
The 57th Meeting of the PABSEC Legal and Political Affairs Committee was held online on 7 April 2021 with the technical support of the PABSEC International Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by the national delegations from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Mikhail Emelianov, Chairman of the Committee (Russia).
The Committee approved draft Report and Recommendation 180/2021 “The Role of Parliaments in Preventing Human Trafficking - Legal and Policy Aspects”, which will be submitted to the Fifty-Seventh Plenary Session of the General Assembly.
The Committee considered and approved the amendments to the Rules of Procedure and the Staff Regulations of the PABSEC International Secretariat presented by the Working Group on the Rules of Procedure, which will be submitted to the Standing Committee for final adoption.
The next 58th Meeting of the Committee will be held in Serbia on13-14 October 2021. The main issue will be “Fostering digitalization and innovation as a means to improve the legislative process and increase transparency of parliamentary work and the citizens’ engagement”. Ms. Roberta Alma Anastase, member of the PABSEC Romanian delegation, was appointed the Rapporteur for the report.
