Working Visit of Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, to the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, 12 March 2026
On 12 March 2026, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General, paid a working visit to Skopje, where he met with Mr. Afrim Gashi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia.
During the meeting, the PABSEC Secretary General expressed his sincere gratitude to the President of the Assembly for the continued support for PABSEC activities and highlighted the valuable contribution of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia to the work of the PABSEC and its International Secretariat. Mr. Hajiyev informed Mr. Gashi about the forthcoming 67th PABSEC General Assembly, scheduled for June 2026 in Georgia, as well as the events being organized under the PABSEC Georgian Presidency. He also informed about the forthcoming PABSEC Presidency of the Assembly of North Macedonia in the second half of 2027. The sides also discussed the situation in the region.
Mr. Gashi expressed appreciation for the fruitful cooperation with PABSEC, reaffirmed his full support for the Organization's activities, and assured that the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, together with the Parliamentary Delegation to PABSEC, would continue contributing actively to the work of the PABSEC and ensure the successful organization of the forthcoming General Assembly in North Macedonia. Ms. Blagica Lasovska, PABSEC Vice-President and Head of the Delegation of the Republic of North Macedonia to PABSEC, also attended the meeting.
On the same day, Mr. Hajiyev held a meeting with Ms. Blagica Lasovska, PABSEC Vice-President and Head of Delegation, and Ms. Valbona Adili Emini, member of the Delegation. During this meeting, Mr. Hajiyev conveyed his appreciation for the continuous support and assistance provided in matters concerning the work of the PABSEC International Secretariat. Discussions also focused on the forthcoming 67th General Assembly in Georgia and North Macedonia's upcoming assumption of the PABSEC Presidency in 2027.
Ms. Lasovska expressed her appreciation for the Secretary General's constructive work and sustained efforts, emphasizing that the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Delegation to PABSEC would continue to contribute to the Assembly's activities actively.
During his visit, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev was accompanied by Ms. Renata Meto, Secretary of the PABSEC Committee for Social and Humanitarian Policy.
