Participation of Mr. Daniel Dulca, PABSEC Deputy Secretary General, in the NATO PA 98th Rose-Roth Seminar, Skopje, 27-29 June 2018
During 27-29 June 2018, Mr. Daniel Dulca, Deputy Secretary General of the PABSEC, participated in the 98th NATO PA Rose-Roth Seminar, in Skopje.
The key objective of the Rose-Roth Seminars is to facilitate the dialogue on regional security matters between the NATO legislators and the partner nations.
The event was organized by the NATO PA, in cooperation with the Assembly of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, benefiting also from the generous support of the Swiss Government and the Geneva Center for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF).
The meeting was attended by parliament members belonging to 23 NATO member states and partner countries, by parliamentary and international observers, who had the opportunity to discuss the internal reform processes in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and the country’s relations with its neighbours.
President of the Assembly of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Prime Minister of the former Republic of Macedonia, President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Head of the Delegation of the Assembly of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia to the NATO PA and Ambassador of Switzerland to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, addressed the participants at the Opening Session and answered the different questions.
Government officials and representatives of the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and additional experts tackled aspects of the ongoing reform processes in all the government sectors.
The Seminar approached other important topics for the region of the Western Balkans, such as the situation of the interethnic relations, the role of disinformation and misinformation in the public discourse as well as the migration crisis and the Balkan Route.
All speakers highlighted the importance of the regional stability and security for the Atlantic Alliance.
Mr. Daniel DULCA had a discussion with Mr. David Hobbs, the Secretary General of the NATO PA, during which were tackled issues of common interest for the two Assemblies.
