International Conference on: “Science Evidence-Based Decision-Making Approaches for the Implementation of SDGs in the Black Sea Region” Online, 24 March 2021
Ms. Pavlina Lozanova, Secretary of the Legal and Political Affairs Committee, attended the International Conference on “Science Evidence-Based Decision-Making Approaches for the Implementation of SDGs in the Black Sea Region”, organized by the Black Sea University Network and the Department for Sustainable Development of the Romanian Government, on 24 March 2021.
Members of Parliaments, Government officials, academics, students, experts, Observers and Sectoral Dialogue Partners of BSEC Member States, BSEC related bodies and other international organizations took part in the conference. Ms. Pavlina Lozanova delivered an intervention on behalf of the PABSEC International Secretariat, underlining the importance of the beneficial cooperation of the scientific communities of the BSEC Member States which will further contribute for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda Goals.
The participants exchanged ideas, best practices and knowledge in order to identify new directions to be followed for conceiving the policies addressing the implementation of SDGs in the Black Sea area by supporting the decision-making process with objective evidence and scientific frameworks. The keynote speakers and the experts who participated in the event, focused on numerous important issues, such as Post-Graduate Education and Research on Cultural Heritage as Pillars of Sustainable Development in the Black Sea Region, and Intermittent Flow Rivers and Ephemeral Streams in Europe and Black Sea Drainage Basin.
