Meeting of the Representatives of Black Sea Cities of Bulgaria, Russia and Turkey dedicated to Cruise Tourism in the Black Sea
On 29-30 September 2018 in Sochi, upon the initiative of Sochi Municipality and in cooperation with the PABSEC International Secretariat, the representatives of the Black Sea cities of Bulgaria, Russia and Turkey participated in the meeting dedicated to the development of cruise tourism.
In the first half of the day, representatives of the Black Sea cities took part in the International Business Forum “Meeting of Leaders”. Mr. Cemal Ozturk, Head of the PABSEC Turkish delegation and Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, PABSEC Secretary General addressed the participants in the Forum.
During the negotiations between the Sochi City Administration and the representatives of the delegations of Turkey and Bulgaria, the issues like launching of a regular cruise traffic between the cities of the Black Sea countries, development of necessary infrastructure for cruise traffic and preparation of respective tourism products were discussed.
The participants agreed to set up two working groups - (1) the Working Group of Tour Operators and (2) the Working Group of Sea Port Administrations.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that an appropriate agreement will be signed between the Black Sea cities.
Upon the invitation of the Mayor of the Istanbul Beyoglu district Mr. Ahmet Misbah Demircan, the next meeting of the mayors of the Black Sea cities will be held in Istanbul in November 2018.
