63rd Meeting of the PABSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy, Istanbul (Türkiye), 17 October 2024
The 63rd Meeting of the PABSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy was held in Istanbul (Türkiye) on 17 October 2024 upon the invitation of the PABSEC International Secretariat.
The Meeting was attended by the national delegations of Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine, as well as a representative of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat, Secretary of the Delegation of the Republic of North Macedonia, and members of the PABSEC International Secretariat. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Musa Guliyev, Chairman of the Committee, member of the PABSEC Azerbaijani delegation.
The Committee reviewed the draft Report and the draft Recommendation 201/2024 “The Role of Parliaments in Strengthening the Protection of Cultural Heritage in the BSEC Member States”, which will be submitted to the 64th Plenary Session of the General Assembly.
The Committee took note of the information on the activities of the BSEC Organization presented by Ms. Sandra Vujinovic, Executive Manager of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat.
The Committee elected Mr. Pavel Hristov, member of the PABSEC Bulgarian delegation, as Vice-Chair of the Committee for a term of two years.
The next 64th Meeting of the Committee will be held in the spring of 2025 in Sinop, Türkiye. It was proposed to discuss “Current Strategies and Practices for Advancing Education and Employment for People with Disabilities in the BSEC Region” as the main subject. It was decided that Mr. Nazim Maviş, member of PABSEC Turkish delegation, will be the Rapporteur.
